Cool Find: Crocheted Pokémon Magikarp

This is awesome. When I meet kids, and because I’m old, they are surprised I know what Pokémon is. And then they ask me what my favourite Pokémon is. And I always say Magikarp, because it’s one of the most useless Pokémon there is. And then I start to go on and on about magikarps and then they kids get weirded out and I laugh.

I prey on awkward in any situation…

First guy ever to knit at Lee’s Palace!

I haven’t updated much, but it’s not because I haven’t been knitting.

Oh no, I totally love knitting.

I finally finished my Totoro shaker that I was knitting for Debbie Ohi that I needed to get done as one of the perks for Debs & Errol CTRL+ALT+DUETS indiegogo campaign.

This took much longer than I had intended.

Admittedly, I was a perfectionist on it. I restarted it 5 times or more because I kept screwing up. Ah well.

Anyway, last night, I spent about two hours knitting at Lee’s Palace. There was a geeky music concert happening called Super Audio Land 2, and it was awesome.

I am going to claim to be the first guy to have knitted there for two hours during a show. ^_^

This is a sweater I’m knitting. I’ll talk about it in an upcoming post.

Guest Post – Jeanette of “This Dusty House”

Dear readers, meet Jeanette! I met Jeanette in November, during NaNoWriMo. She has her own blog called This Dusty House and she is a wonderful friend and my new knitting buddy.

She’s not someone who thinks herself as a geek, but she grew up reading science fiction and fantasy! Sadly, she was bullied a bit out of it as she explains in her blog.

Anyway, she is one of the founding members of the Princess Bride Knitting Circle, which I haven’t blogged about yet, but I will!

Hello everybody!

I am neither a geek, nor a guy, and half the time when I play around with yarn, I use a crochet hook rather than knitting needles, so I’m not entirely sure if I should really be writing here on Errol’s blog. After all, this little space of the interwebs is called Geek Guy Knitting! But, Errol asked me to write a post for his blog and, well… I couldn’t say no. I love all things yarn. I love talking about knitting and crocheting. I love all the finished objects that come from twisting colourful string into a series of orderly knots.

Camping and Knitting

My wife loves camping. She loves camping as much as I love being inside.

Sadly, my enthusiasm for camping is on par with my enthusiasm for nude saunas with relatives. (Sorry for those that shuddered through this joke on Facebook.)

I shan’t post pics of me in a sauna. Here’s me trying to drum up a smile for camping.

Guest Post: This Dusty House

You must forgive me for not posting in a while, I do have one in the works. In the meantime, I have a new knitting partner (well, ok, we’ve knit once together) and she let me do a guest blog on house maintenance. Huzzah! ^_^

My First Knitting Circle

Believe it or not, I try to act normal when meeting new people. If I am successful, then the group will have no idea that I am geeky, nerdy, or even asian.

Well, ok, sometimes I can’t contain my love for rice, so that may give me away.

It would be hard to have knitted rice, so here is knitted Siu Mai. How AWESOME is that? Click for the pattern available at All About Ami.
